Play Minesweeper online, with no guessing
This is the classic Minesweeper puzzle with one big difference: every board is checked by a solver before you see it, so the whole field can be cleared with logic alone. No more losing a perfect game to a coin-flip in the last corner. Dig into the grass, read the numbers, plant your flags and clear the meadow.
How to play
- Dig: click or tap a square. Your first square is always safe and opens up an area.
- Read the numbers: a number shows how many mines touch that square, counting all eight neighbours.
- Flag: right-click, press and hold, or switch on the ๐ฉ button, to mark a square you know is a mine.
- Chord: when a number has all its flags, click the number to dig the rest of its neighbours in one go.
- Win: dig every square that is not a mine. The mines bloom into flowers.
Board sizes
- Easy: 9 ร 9 with 10 mines. Good for learning the patterns.
- Medium: 16 ร 16 with 40 mines. The classic intermediate board.
- Expert: 30 ร 16 with 99 mines. On a phone the board turns upright so the squares stay big enough to tap.
- Daily: 16 ร 16 with 44 mines, the same board for everyone today. Start on the marked square and keep your streak going.

Tips for beginners
- A 1 touching only one hidden square means that square is a mine.
- If a number already has all its mines flagged, every other square around it is safe.
- Look for the 1-2-1 pattern along a wall: the mines sit next to the two 1s, and the square by the 2 is safe.
- Stuck? Press ๐ก for a square that is certainly safe. It adds 10 seconds to your time.
Frequently asked questions
What does no guessing mean?
Every board is checked by a solver before you play it. From your first click, the whole field can be cleared using only the numbers, so you never have to gamble on a 50/50. You can switch to classic random boards in Stats.
How do I play Minesweeper?
Click a square to dig. A number tells you how many mines touch that square, including diagonals. Use the numbers to work out where the mines are, flag them, and dig every safe square to win.
How do I flag a mine on a phone?
Press and hold a square to plant a flag, or turn on the flag button and tap. On a computer, right-click a square.
What is chording?
When a number already has the right count of flags around it, click or tap the number to dig all of its other neighbours at once. It is the fastest way to clear a board.
What happens if I hit a mine?
You can start a new game or press Undo, which flags that mine and lets you carry on. A game finished with undo does not count toward your best time or streak.
What is the daily Minesweeper?
Every day there is one 16 by 16 board with 44 mines, the same for every player. Start on the marked square, clear it as fast as you can and keep your daily streak going.
