A free bomber game: battle the computer or a friend
Toybox Bomber Battle is a bomber game for up to four players in the spirit of the classic bomb battle games, with soft toy-block art and chunky explosions. Four toys start in the four corners of a small arena packed with breakable blocks. Drop bombs, blast your way through, grab power-ups and knock the others out. Play alone against three computer players, or with a friend on the same keyboard against two. It runs free in your browser on a computer or a phone, with no download.
How to win
- Last one standing wins the round. If the last two players go down at the same moment, the round is a draw.
- First to three rounds wins the match. Each round is played in a different toy world: Playroom, Sandbox, Snow Day, Garden or Starlight.
- One hit and you're out, from anyone's flames, your own included.
- Every round starts fresh with one bomb and one tile of fire, so losing a round never leaves you behind.
- The walls close in: a round lasts two and a half minutes. With 30 seconds left, blocks drop in a spiral from the outer edge and squeeze everyone toward the middle. Anything they land on is out.
How to play
- Keyboard: WASD (or the arrow keys) to move, J (or Space) to drop a bomb, P to pause.
- Two players: player 1 uses WASD and J, player 2 uses the arrow keys and Enter. Two gamepads work as well. Change any key in Settings (⚙).
- Phone and tablet: touch and drag on the left to move, tap 💣 to drop a bomb.
- Gamepad: the stick or d-pad moves, A drops a bomb.
A bomb goes off after about two and a half seconds and sends flames up, down, left and right. Flames stop at the first block they hit and break it. A flame that reaches another bomb sets it off at once, so chains can sweep across the arena.
Power-ups
- Extra bomb: carry one more bomb at a time.
- Fire up: your flames reach one tile further.
- Speed up: walk a little faster.
They hide under the breakable blocks, so the first seconds of a round are a race to power up. A flame that reaches an uncovered power-up burns it.
Computer players
Choose how tough the three computer players are. Easy ones are slow, rarely come after you and often walk into fires. Normal ones are a little slower than you and play a fair game. Hard ones keep pace with you, never drop a bomb without a way out and try to box you into a corner.
Tips
- Know where you will hide before you drop a bomb: round a corner, out of the bomb's row and column.
- Don't run down a straight corridor away from a long flame; duck into a side passage.
- The best way to catch someone is to close their last way out. A bomb at the mouth of a dead end is hard to escape.
- When the walls start closing in, head for the middle early instead of waiting at the edge.
- Knocked out early? Press the bomb button to skip to the end of the round.

Frequently asked questions
Is this bomber game free?
Yes. Toybox Bomber Battle is free to play in your browser on a computer, phone or tablet, with no download and no account.
How do I win?
Be the last toy standing. Knock the other players out with your bombs and stay out of every flame, your own included. The last one left wins the round, and the first player to win 3 rounds wins the match.
Can two people play on one computer?
Yes. Pick 2 players before you start: player 1 moves with WASD and drops bombs with J, player 2 uses the arrow keys and Enter, and two computer players fill the other corners. Two gamepads work too, and both players' keys can be changed in Settings.
How long is a round?
Two and a half minutes at most. With 30 seconds left, blocks start dropping from the outer ring inward, so the round always ends with a winner or a draw.
Do power-ups carry over to the next round?
No. Everyone starts every round with one bomb and one tile of fire, so losing a round never leaves you behind.
How hard are the computer players?
There are three levels. Easy ones are slow and often walk into fires, normal ones are a little slower than you and play fair, and hard ones keep pace with you, plan their escapes and try to box you into a corner.
Is this the official Bomberman?
No. Toybox Bomber Battle is an original game in the style of the classic bomb battle games, with its own characters and art. Bomberman is a trademark of Konami, and this site has no connection with it.
